Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
I am so excited to be a student, no matter what happens in the fall. The community has already been so welcoming and I cannot wait to be part of it in person!

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
When we got word that campus was shutting down, we panicked about the seedlings for our school's garden. Multiple staff members came forward to take them home and care for them. This picture captures the spirit of the moment and our school. Harvard Divinity School's Garden group thanks the loving staff members who watched over the seedlings.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
These are strange times, and I can hardly believe I am living through them. It's important to take time to reflect and, for me- focus on putting out some positivity into the world. I may at times feel disconnected, but thinking about the new ways this pandemic has united us brings me some comfort. I hope that we can all reflect back on this time as an opportunity to show the best sides of humanity.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Everything that has happened this year has only strengthened my belief in the importance of relationships with others. Never forget how important your fellow human beings are, and don't let a day go by without reminding someone how much they mean to you. Without our loved ones, our lives would lack a great deal of meaning. Love is what makes life beautiful.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Life might be quieter than usual, but I like to think it allows us to pause and appreciate the spaces and places we have access to. I've never spent more time walking than in the last three months, and I hope you've all found some time to enjoy the fresh air, too—masks on, of course.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
I received such a beautiful thank you email along with this beautiful illustration from one of my Tech Fellows who graduated yesterday. It touched me so much that she would take the time to thank me. I love Harvard because I get to support such amazing students.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Words cannot encapsulate my gratitude--for my mentors, peers/friends, supporters, communities, opportunities and experiences at Harvard. I am sincerely grateful to have found a home in Kirkland House, a home I know I will take with me wherever I go. THANK YOU, AND CONGRATS TO THE CLASS OF 2020! To many more memories together!

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
I miss the fond steps of Widener, the crowded Winthrop dinners, the editorial meetings at the Crimson. I miss the dogs, Remy the humanities cat, and even the turkeys trotting across campus. I know that it'll take at least another while for everyone to recover and adjust to these new and difficult circumstances — I am hoping for the best, yet expecting the worst.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
when my HGSE wife, Judith, graduated in 1975, we were all there in Harvard Yard on a wet rainy morning to cheer her in the parade--all 3 of her little children, including the latest in the pram--and were all so proud of the arrival of child #4--little ed (EdD)--wishing happy memories to the class of 2020!
