Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
In the midst of a global pandemic, we have turned inwards. But despite the tremendous heaviness of this time, I have also found it to be meaningful and rewarding. In turning inwards, I have learned more about myself than I thought I ever would during my graduate education. The worst thing you can do in the face of a negative or unexpected experience is not learn and develop from it. I am grateful for my growth.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Thank you, Harvard, for giving me the opportunity to venture out of my small town and explore a new part of this world. I will miss you this semester.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
I miss you so much Harvard. Of course it's the people I miss most -- but it's not the people alone. It's the possibility of adventure, the dazzling array of things to see, to do, to learn with those people. It's walking through the Yard under an autumn rainbow of leaves. It's the friendly, wet snuffles of all the Kirkland dogs. It's the comfort of my tiny room against the excitement of a thousand colliding worlds beyond. I think some part of me is still not ready to let you go... but thank you.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Pictured here is my grandmother, 95 years young, visiting Harvard for the first time in July 2018. It was one of the most memorable days of my life, made sweeter now that I have the honor of joining HLS’s Class of 2023. I look forward to getting to know the Harvard community, and I especially look forward to the day I can return to campus with her!

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
No matter what each day brings, the sun will continue to rise and set, gifting us with each day a new chance to make things right and better with the world. Before the sun sets, let our actions lead this world on a better path for all of humanity.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Thank you for my best friends! While we lost our 2.5 months together, there's no one I would have rather spend the last 3.75 getting to know. We have a lifetime of memories together, plus an in person graduation, to look forward to! I am better for knowing everyone in this community, from my closest friends to those who simply brightened my time at Harvard by also being there. To those who still have time left at the College, cherish every moment at this incredible place. In short thank you all!

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
A whirlwind of memories colors the week we said goodbye: tears and dancing in the Adams LCR; senior thesis pictures on Widener steps; dashing to Weeks Bridge to catch one last sunrise. As I reminisce, I’m surprised by how the devastation has so quickly morphed into joy: virtual game nights and group workouts; late night Zoom chats; old-fashioned phone calls just to catch up. Who would’ve thought this could be the chance for us to finally make good on those promises to "catch a meal sometime"?

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
We are all merely guess in this world for but a short time. We will be challenged and tested with both triumphs and chaos. It is what we each do in our own sliver of history that will tell our shared story.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
I will never again take for granted the sound of the audience at a concert, the smell of a big backyard barbecue, or a hug from a person I love. I cannot wait for these seemingly small moments to come again. Until then, thank you Harvard for giving me a reason to smile.

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Our future impact in the world will be defined by how we handle the situations thrust upon us. If its anything that this decade has taught us, it’s that we should strive to follow our vision…a mantra to look at our current situation and figure out how we can become even greater. This pandemic has shaken up the status quo and uncovered our country's deeply rooted problems. It is up to us to set our differences aside, help one another, and set the world on a better path together.
